A native New Yorker, Deeter graduated from Hofstra University at the age of 20 and worked in the field of direct marketing. In 1988, she was offered the opportunity to open and run the first Midwest office of a large direct marketing agency. She moved to Chicago and became the youngest and only female vice president in the history of the 400-person agency.
In 1991 she was recruited to head up sales and marketing for an $11 million privately held contact center outsourcer. Twelve years later and under her sales and marketing leadership, it was transformed into a thriving $400 million publicly traded company.
In 2003 she was wooed away from Chicago to re-invent a privately held Columbus, OH based company where she became SVP of Sales & Marketing and the only non-family board member. Within four years its ranking went from oblivion to the seventh largest outsourcer in the US and soon after, was purchased by a large multinational organization. When she received a Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her 25+ years of service, she felt it was time to leave corporate America behind. So at the height of her career, she followed her one true passion, art, and opened Hayley Gallery in November, 2007.
Adding to her role of gallery owner, Hayley launched Deeter Design in 2014 to assist clients with incorporating art in their homes, adding color to their lives and re-designing interior spaces. She looks at each room as a blank canvas and focuses on integrating her clients’ own style sensibilities and lifestyles into her designs.
She met the love of her life and married Curt Deeter in 2013 and together they have four children who share her love for art. She indulges in other passions – museums, travel and SCUBA, whenever she can find the time.
